Coach Ryan chimes in on Posture
“Sit up straight or you’ll hurt you back.” How many times have you heard this? Coach Ryan chimes in on posture in today’s article.
There's a gym in Central right now selling a "12-week transformation package.
It comes with a membership, a shaker bottle, and a stock photo of someone who has never set foot in that building. This is not rare. It is close to the industry standard.
More structure than the ads suggest.
More paperwork than you’d like.
Fewer promises about “shredding” anything in a timeframe that would concern a doctor.
A commercial gym’s version of an assessment is a body scan and a membership contract on the same clipboard.
That’s not an assessment.
That’s onboarding.
A real one starts with a movement screen, a health history, and a conversation about what happened the last three times you tried this.
Most people walking into a transformation programme have already lost the weight once.
Twice, sometimes.
What they haven’t figured out is why their shoulder clicks on every bench press, or why the weight always finds its way back within a year.
That gets found here, before it turns into an injury or a reason to quit again.
If the “custom” plan you were handed looks identical to the one taped to the wall by the squat rack, someone typed your name at the top of a template.
That happens constantly, and most people never notice because they’ve got nothing to compare it to.
At Precision Fitness, the Transformation Body Blueprint runs on a 90-day roadmap, built from your assessment and adjusted as the coach watches how you actually respond.
Week four should look nothing like week one.
If it does, someone stopped paying attention around week two.
A seven-day meal plan printed once and handed over is not nutrition coaching.
It’s a worksheet.
Coaching means someone looks at what you actually ate this week, not the version you meant to eat, and adjusts from there.
Hong Kong makes this harder than most cities give it credit for.
A plan that can’t survive yum cha with the in-laws or a client dinner in Lan Kwai Fong isn’t built for this city.
It’s built for a spreadsheet.
The scale gives you one number, and that number can go up the week your strength jumps and your body composition improves, because muscle exists and has weight.
People quit good programs over this constantly.
A program worth paying for tracks strength numbers, sleep, energy, waist measurements, and photos taken in the same light and the same pose every time.
Coaches watching that data notice when the scale stalls but the lifts keep climbing.
That’s the program working. It just doesn’t look like it on a bathroom floor at 7am.
Anyone in Hong Kong can print business cards that say personal trainer.
The bar to clear is a weekend course and a ring light.
Every coach running the Transformation Body Blueprint at Precision Fitness holds an NASM certification, maintained on an ongoing basis, not earned once in 2018 and forgotten.
That matters most in the moment a client shows up with knee pain and needs a physio referral instead of three more sets of lunges.
That’s the moment a six-week certificate shows its limits.
“New you in 12 weeks” is a sentence built by a marketing team, not a physiologist.
Fat loss and strength gain both take time.
Keeping either one once you’ve got it takes longer.
The Blueprint runs 90 days, stated plainly at the start, with a clear picture of what shifts fast (sleep, energy, how your jeans fit by week three) and what takes the full stretch (visible body composition change, habits that hold once the program ends).
A HK$500 gym “challenge” is cheap because there’s barely a coach in it.
What you’re buying is a membership with a countdown timer attached.
A proper 90-day programme costs more because a qualified coach’s time is in it, along with programming built around your body and nutrition support that shifts as your weeks shift.
Comparing those two on price is comparing a gym pass to a job someone gets paid to do properly, with your body as the project.
Precision Fitness runs the Transformation Body Blueprint as an application-only, 12-week programme out of its Central studio. Apply here to find out if it’s a fit.
